SRIBS at the 2024 CADE Architectural Design Expo
From October 16-19, the 2024 CADE Architectural Design Expo was being held at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. SRIBS has been invited as the main organizer, leading the curation of the “Diverse Symbiosis • Zero Carbon Building” themed exhibition area, which made a significant debut at the conference. Jiang Yan, Vice President of SRIBS, serves as the curator of the exhibition area, collaborating with organizations such as the China Academy of Building Research, Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, Zhejiang Design Institute, Baoye Group, and Midea Building Technology to present a feast of green technology. Leaders from SRIBS’s Market Development Department, Design Institute, Testing Company, and other co-exhibitors participated in this event.
01. Building a Green Future
The CADE Architectural Design Expo focuses on creating high-quality building solutions and providing a platform for architects to share ideas. Co-hosted by the China Architectural Society, Messe München, and Zhonglian Muenchen, the theme of this year’s conference is “Building a Green Future.” It invites many industry leaders and experts to work together on plans for healthy living spaces, smart buildings, urban renewal, and zero-carbon architecture, exploring future possibilities in construction.
02. Zero Carbon Buildings and Collaboration
The themed exhibition area presented by SRIBS uses recyclable materials to create the display space, leading with a zero-carbon building knowledge system. It showcases numerous exemplary zero-carbon building cases, as well as sustainable building systems and technology integrations from various co-exhibitors.
The exhibition features zero-carbon building cases from different climates, including Beijing, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Xinjiang, Belarus, and Samoa, presenting the latest energy-efficient systems, efficient mechanical systems, renewable energy applications, and carbon measurement tools. It comprehensively interprets concepts of collaboration, green practices, and sustainable development, demonstrating the low-carbon design achievements guided and implemented by architects.
03. Joining Forces for a Low Carbon Future
The exhibition area, hosted by SRIBS and organized by the Shanghai Institute of Building Science, also held a salon with the same theme during the conference, where Jiang Yan attended and delivered a speech. Centered around “Zero Carbon Buildings,” SRIBS collaborated with several well-known design firms and technology suppliers to share ideas and practical examples. They jointly launched the “Architectural Green Low Carbon Joint Design Initiative,” aiming for sustainable design that focuses on users' needs through teamwork and innovation.
During the salon, the SRIBS and Midea Group's Building Technology Division held a strategic partnership signing ceremony. Both will focus on key industry areas, engaging in collaboration in research, market growth, and training to boost their brands and competitiveness.
Experts from various organizations shared insights on moving toward carbon neutrality, discussing diverse paths for low-carbon design and construction strategies, working together for a sustainable low-carbon future.
